Pre-Workshop Survey:

We are pleased to welcome David Bulova, Virginia Secretary of Natural and Historic Resource, as a guest speaker. Please complete the survey below to help us shape the rest of workshop agenda and ensure we cover the topics most important to you.

WHY STORMWATER & LITTER?
There are growing concerns about the impacts of debris and plastic pollution in rivers, lakes, the ocean and coastal waters, along with increasing emphasis on stormwater management of litter and debris.  Virginia faces a new urgency to understand and address the sources of litter and marine debris in our waters.

ABOUT THIS WORKSHOP:

This workshop will address the pressing need to address stormwater challenges in Virginia, where rising sea levels and increased precipitation intensify the risks of flooding and water pollution. Workshop participants will be equipped with practical strategies and innovative approaches to manage stormwater effectively while enhancing the resilience of their communities. This workshop will emphasize the need for collaboration and proactive planning to mitigate the impacts of stormwater on both natural ecosystems and human settlements in Virginia. Participants will also explore actions identified in the 2026–2030 Virginia Marine Debris Reduction Plan that are relevant to stormwater management and discuss opportunities to support their implementation.

We will share ideas through case studies, networking, and discussions and address funding, behavioral changes, legislation, and more!
